For families keeping their loved one at home. The full team comes to them, and nothing about home has to change.
IS IT TIME?
Families usually find us when love alone stops being enough hands. If any of this sounds familiar, it's worth a call.
SIGNS:
More help would make the days easier, for them and for you.
The hospital trips are getting more frequent
Keeping them comfortable is getting more complicated
A doctor has mentioned hospice or comfort care.

A nurse every week, and more when needed, unhurried.
Gentle help with bathing, dressing, and the daily cares, week in and week out.
Delivered, set up, and managed, so the house runs itself.
Nights, weekends, holidays, a real person answers.
For them and for the whole family, in English or Spanish.
Someone who explains what you're seeing, what's next, and what to do.

WHAT TO EXPECT
It starts with one call, any hour. We'll talk through your situation, answer everything, and if hospice fits, a nurse can be at the house within an hour of signed consent, often the same day.
From there, help moves in, and the worry starts moving out. The hospital bed, the medications, the supplies, all of it arrives and gets set up without you lifting anything. Our team carries the care, so your family is free to simply be the family.
The rhythm settles in fast. The nurse comes weekly, the aide keeps the mornings gentle, the chaplain and social worker visit on your family's terms, and it's the same faces at the door, nearly every visit.
Your family's own doctor stays involved the whole way, and our physicians keep them in the loop. Many families come to us through their doctor; just as many call on their own. Both doors lead to the same care.
For those who qualify, Medicare covers all of it, the visits, the medications, the equipment, at no out-of-pocket cost. Our team confirms your coverage before anything begins.

Common Questions from Families
Plain answers, any hour. If yours isn't here, give us a call.
Hospice care is medical care for someone with a life-limiting illness, focused on comfort instead of cure. That means pain management, daily support, and help for the whole family, wherever the patient lives.
Someone qualifies for hospice when a doctor determines that, if the illness runs its expected course, life expectancy is six months or less. If you're not sure whether your loved one qualifies, call us, and we'll help you have that conversation with the doctor.
Hospice care happens wherever the patient lives: a private home, an assisted living community, a nursing home, or a personal care home. When hospital-level comfort care is needed, AIP can provide that as well.
Hospice can often start the same day. AIP Hospice aims to respond to new referrals within 30 minutes, any hour of any day, and the first visit typically happens within one hour of signed consent.
AIP Hospice serves San Antonio and everywhere within about 50 miles of the medical center. Not sure if that reaches you? Call, and if we can't serve you, we'll help you find someone who can.
