VETERANS & VA BENEFITS

VA-Contracted Hospice Care for Veterans in San Antonio

For veterans and the families beside them. The benefits handled start to finish, and the care wherever they live.

SAN ANTONIO'S VETERANS

A Military Town Takes Care of Its Own

San Antonio is a military town, and caring for its veterans is an honor we hold with both hands. AIP is VA-contracted, one of a small number of San Antonio hospices that are, which means the VA has vetted us and trusts us with its own. If a veteran you love needs more help than family alone can give, here's how we can help.

HOME, COMMUNITY, OR NURSING HOME

The Care Follows Them, Wherever They Live

A veteran's care shouldn't depend on their address. AIP brings the full team to the house, into assisted living, into personal care homes, and into VA-contracted nursing homes across the area. The care itself is the full AIP standard: the same nurses and aides returning nearly every visit, a live person answering any hour, care in English or Spanish, respect for their service, and someone there to listen to their stories.

THE BENEFITS, HANDLED

How the VA Benefits Become Real Care

VA hospice benefits are generous, and famously confusing. Most families don't know what's covered, and plenty never use what their veteran earned. That's the first thing we fix: call us, and we'll confirm the benefits together, what the VA covers, what Medicare covers, and what it all means for your family. The answer is usually better than families expect, and it costs nothing to find out. If your veteran qualifies, care can begin quickly, often the same day, and the paperwork is ours to carry, not yours.

COMMON QUESTIONS FROM VETERAN FAMILIES

Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers, any hour. If yours isn't here, give us a call.

Does the VA pay for hospice care?

Yes. Hospice is a covered VA benefit for enrolled veterans, and Medicare covers hospice as well. AIP helps your family confirm which benefits apply and handles the paperwork.

Does a veteran have to use a VA facility for hospice?

No. Veterans can receive hospice at home, in a community, or in a nursing home through a VA-contracted provider. AIP is one of a small number of VA-contracted hospices in San Antonio.

Can a veteran get hospice care at home?

Yes. The full team comes to wherever the veteran lives: a private home, an assisted living community, a personal care home, or a nursing home.

What if we're not sure which benefits my veteran has?

Call us. We'll confirm the benefits together, the VA side and the Medicare side, and explain what each covers. It costs nothing to find out.

How fast can care start for a veteran?

Often the same day. AIP responds to every call within 30 minutes, any hour, and the first visit typically happens within one hour of signed consent.
